We started Ivythorn because the alternative felt broken.
Too much capital today is short by design. Funds have fixed lifetimes, fees stack against the businesses they back, and “success” is too often defined as the fastest possible exit. For founders and families who had spent a generation building something real, the available options were all variations of the same pressure: sell, soon, on someone else’s terms.
We built Ivythorn to be the opposite. A private group that invests its own permanent balance sheet, that measures success in compounding rather than in exits, and that’s happy to hold a great business for as long as it stays great. A holding company and an advisory firm, under one roof, so that the counsel we give and the capital we deploy come from the same long-horizon place.
